In my search I have found two that were really sweet. When You Were Just A Heartbeat by Laura Molk is perfect for my little nature lover. It takes you through the changes of the seasons (with beautiful illustrations) as the baby grows and develops from forming fingers and toes to opening their eyes.
The other one is Just Like a Baby by Rebecca Bond. The handicraft lover in me couldn't resist a book where each family member makes a gift to give the new little one. There's even a silly twist to it.
We've also had A Baby Sister for Frances- by Russell Hoban on our shelf for a while, and have always liked the Frances books.
The Ambleside Online Year 0 Yahoo group had a discussion going on this topic a while back, but I hadn't found anything of great value there at that point.
Now this is my question to those of you who have been in this place before- What books have you liked on this topic?
A few other preparations have been made as well. A few meals are in the freezer. I've been doing some reading of my own. Along with this reassuring and beautiful poem/prayer.
